The Best Medical Karen Money Can Buy

I liked this last comment so much, and thought it was so right on target - and ripe for further comment - that I wanted to give it its own space. So many of the dark paths in Clallam County lead right back to Karen Rogers and Jim Jones...They're so revoltingly corrupt, but the locals still won't revolt. Councilors and Commissioners complicit in the raping and looting of thousands of people's futures...

"Don't be lulled to sleep. Rogers is still large and in charge of more than you can imagine. It is no accident she fell right in to the job at the Olympic Medical Foundation. Gobs of CASH money to slither in. Who put her into that position? Jim Jones for one and the members of the board of the foundation. These are the greed heads who work with and for Rogers. Once she gets someone to take part in her greed then she has them forever. She will dangle a carrot and those who bite are in her control forever. Who in their right mind would allow her to become president of such an important foundation. You can tell that OMC is a rats nest and they will allow this type miscreant to soil their halls. That is why we cannot get reputable medical people up here. The do a bit of research and find this place is riddled with corruption and they move on."

Not even with rubber gloves, surgical scrubs
AND a ten-foot pole...

  1. OMC is known, statewide, as one of the worst hospitals. Karen puts her special brand of taint on everything.

    1. If God is in his heaven OMC will topple into the strait with the next tremor.

    2. Eric Lewis, CEO of OMC is now going around to all the local governments begging money for his bastard-child the VIMO clinic where they lay off the patients who cannot bring any funds to the OMC. Now even VIMO is brushing off those problematic patients so they can get those in and out type patients to keep up their patient count. Hey Eric, why not go ask your friend Karen for some funds for the VIMO clinic. You know the one who runs the OMC Foundation you are so proud of. The one where they have these huge fundraisers for the blue-haired set and then send over peanuts to the OMC. I bet they are rolling in dough--but you and the public will never know because Karen keeps it all hidden.
What a bunch of suckers we have here.

  2. Jones is sitting solid with the three Republican commissioners in place. No need for him to worry.

And look at how the City Council applauded Karen Rogers at a recent meeting for her "contributions" to the community.

No, there's no threat of the locals acting up against their oppressors anytime soon.

Another round of uncontested elections anyone?

    1. That is so ironic, since Jones is a life-long Democrat. I remember all those years when he was a precinct committeeman in my precinct. He must be doing a decent job.

    2. Jim Jones is about as much a Democrat as he is an astronaut. He's a bureaucrat first and foremost, guided by his reptilian survival instinct. He will do whatever it takes to protect one thing - Jim Jones. Everything else is negotiable.

    3. That's one thing I've noticed about this town... We don't have "Democrats" and "Republicans" here. Oh, they may label themselves that, and they certainly will use labels to get the base worked up and screaming about "dumbocrats" and "republitards". Until they get in office and any ideology gets thrown out the window and we wind up with corrupt crony capitalists across the board, sucking away as much grants and other taxpayer money as they can. Who says we can't get partisan agreements in these times?

  3. I can't see that this blog has ever said a good thing about anyone who volunteers their time and talents to help make their community a better place. I guess it is a lot easier to leave town and send back snark at those who try to make a difference, than it is to actually volunteer some of your own time in a positive effort. It must really suck to be you.

    1. No, it must really suck to be stuck in both Port Angeles and denial. If you think that Karen Rogers is a positive force who volunteers her time to anything, then you must be smoking meth. That view is just NOT tethered to reality.

Meanwhile, since you asked, it's noon on Friday, and I'm already done with my work week, and even got in a few hours of overtime. The Fortune 500 company that I work for lets a lot of us set our own hours, so I get in early, and out early. When I'm done here, I'll be walking to the gym, then this afternoon, walking to see CHAPPIE at one of our local movie theaters. After that, we have plans to walk to dinner, either Indian or Thai food.

We will be doing all that walking, by the way, on sidewalks the whole way, since they are not intermittent here like they are in Port Angeles. Said sidewalks are also pretty much all tree-lined and beautiful, since people here take pride in their yards, and front yard gardens are a local norm.

So, in other words, in checking in with my own life, it doesn't seem to suck much at all. But thanks for assuming, and for reading. Say hi to Karen for me the next time you kiss her big, fat ass, will you?

    2. I actually agree with Anon 8:27, for as good as you say you have it, you sure are obsessed with those of us who are staying here trying to make things better. Maybe it is time to move on?

    3. Meanwhile, I believe the Lincoln Theater here is still for sale.

      Nuff said.

    4. Yeah, to use movies as a metaphor, there's literally nothing to see in Port Angeles. Nothing.

    5. Having lived in Port Angeles, and lost my shirt in Port Angeles, and having nearly lost my mind in Port Angeles due to the poisonous, backwards and criminal nature of how "things operate" in Port Angeles...I consider it a public service to try to offer another perspective on the community, for those who might be considering moving there, or opening a business there.

Sure, Port Angeles has a great location - but makes nothing of it, and in most ways actively works to ruin it. Sure, there are nice people and places there - like the PAFAC and Sabai Thai. But they are anomalies, outliers, and not at all representative of the true nature of the place.

So, if I can offer some truth for consideration, great. If I can encourage people of quality and courage who are there to seek greener fields, great. If you don't want that, then maybe you should go talk to a professional BS artist, like Nathan West or Russ Veenema.

To use a medical metaphor, if Port Angeles is the patient, the patient has died. It does no good to try and revive the corpse, or give it infusions of new blood. It's a corpse. It's dead. And only when that dead body has rotted and returned to the earth might it - might it - be possible for something new and healthy to grow there.

    6. @ Anon 1:47

Of course there are a number of people who are trying to make Port Angeles a better place. Faced with what goes on here, who wouldn't want to see improvements? Well, in fact, we know there are many who don't want to see any changes in Port Angeles.

At the recent city council meeting public hearing on the fireworks ban, there were quite a few people who said they had moved to the area in the last couple of years. Why were they there? Because, in all the over places they had lived prior to moving to Port Angeles, they had never experienced the craziness they experience in Port Angeles. They were trying to change the way things are in Port Angeles.

Also at that meeting were people who said things to the effect of "I've lived here all my life, and we always have done this, and we have the right to do these things, and don't change the status quo".

It WAS interesting to see the "new vision of Port Angeles" win out, that evening.

But, that has not been the norm. Think back to any of the initiatives, promises or proposals put out over the last 10 years by people looking to get elected here. Things are pretty much the same as they were, 10 years ago, except we have a bigger debt load. Thanks in part to Karen and Glenn.

    7. I think it's wonderful that Foxy Karen Rogers is always so willing to volunteer to watch our chickens. We can trust her to do a good job!

  4. I don't understand how that could happen, even with Jim Jones in a prominent position.

Her Incubator project was, at best, a complete failure. Given the blowout about it and the committees packed with the same people who voted for it, it was a corrupt way of funneling public money to private parties.
The fact that the incubator was a "public" consulting firm while Karen had a "private" consulting firm should have raised a few flags.
Her maneuvering to get ousted mayor Richard Hendricks back in office was disrespectful to the voters.
The water shutoff battle was one of the most disgusting examples of government arrogance, corruption and disregard for the taxpayers I've ever seen.
The Exeltech situation, where the same company Karen consults with is rewarded bids sounds like a conflict of interest.

And despite all this she's elected to run a charity foundation, one that was bleeding money? I hope I'm wrong, but based on past behavior I'm envisioning a great sucking sound as money gets funneled out. Whatever else I think of her I don't think she's stupid so the money trail won't be easy to follow and everything will be borderline legal, but it will happen.

    1. As I understand it, Karen went to work for Exeltech, the very company she voted multi-million dollar contracts for while on council. As in, right after she got off council.

Would be interesting to see if they made those votes worth her while.

    1. Write to them and inform them of your decision. Picket the "functions" that the foundation sponsors. Hold up signs and let those blue haired ladies know they are getting ripped off every time they write a check to the foundation. Let them know you are on to their duck derby and how insiders always win the big prizes. A dozen protestors at just two foundation events will cause them to run karen back to whatever hole she crawled out of.

  6. Perhaps we might understand why she is suited to be on the OMC board if we knew a little more about her background. But, oops! That's a big, dark secret, isn't it? The kind that has plagued this town for decades. No wonder Karen Rogers fits in here, wherever she came from.

    1. Allegedly, Karen's history was somehow entwined with the defense department. Allegedly, when the new internet connections went in on every pole in Port Angeles there was a "back door" by which folks could intercept any and all communication emanating from any of these wireless communications going on in town. Allegedly that is why so few have signed up for the service. They prefer Karen and her ilk not be privy to their communications.

    2. Any ISP can monitor your traffic, not just Olypen/CPI/Wave. Most major websites are defaulting to secure connections now. It's extremely unlikely there's some conspiracy to fuck us over by snooping our emails. They're already doing it out in the open.

Anecdotally, I tried to sign up for the Metronet. I can see the antenna on the pole from my roof, I can see it from my front porch. I can even get a signal in my dining room with the laptop placed just right. The tech called me back to say nope, sorry, there are trees in the way.

It's like they don't actually want my business.

    3. it isn't like the government isn't snooping on our phone calls, emails, and searches, anyway. We have been scrutinized for a long time. And? What are you going to do about it? There are back-doors in every computer operating system, and if you want to be paranoid -- you can obsess about it. But, then, you should also freak out about the "loyalty cards" (that track what you buy) and your debit card that tracks a great deal of information about you, and worry about your cellphone, which can (with gps) track where you go.

  7. Unemployment rate currently in PA, 8.2%. State of WA, 5.5%. +/- 1%
    Need I say more?

  8. Unemployment rates that the government flaunts are total and utter bullshit. It's closer to 25-30% around here. The government stats don't include people with part-time work, under-the-table work, those who have exhausted their benefits, and those who have given up even trying to look for work and gone on welfare.
