King Jim's Spendy EDC "Experiment" - AKA - King Jim's Sticky Fingered Frankenstein

Persistent little pudgepot, ain't he?

  1. And hasn't Peach shown himself to be a perfect minion? No spine, no brain, just a mouth to say, "Good idea, Jim!"

    1. At least both of them are trying something to improve economic development opportunities in Clallam County. CK outright states his only goal is to make sure nobody comes to "the worst place on earth", and while there are lots of whiners and complainers writing posts, very, very few offer any suggestions for improvement. Pretty pathetic.

    2. If you think that stealing (looting, pilfering, whatever) public funds is going to "improve economic development" somehow, you are either, A) Crazy, or B) Jim McEntire.

And hey, I'll even make a positive suggestion, too. Not stealing (looting, pilfering, whatever) public funds would be a GOOD thing to do.

    3. Define "improving economic development". What specific steps are they taking in that regard? What metrics do they use to measure success? When is success going to be accomplished?

I'm not trying to be nasty here. It's just we've heard this promise far too many times and wasted far too much public money. Reading the EDC Strategic Planning book I'm unconvinced that they have the vision to actually, truly, grow the economy. And there is NOTHING wrong with checking public officials or the use of public funds. I, for one, appreciate CK and Wilson's muckraking to provide a check on our public servants.

    4. The Clown Prince, Bill Peach.

    5. Bill Peach sure turned into a massive RINO didn't he? Talks about conservative ideals, then turns around and wastes taxpayer money on crony capitalism projects... Funny how often that happens around here...

  2. Boy, it gets even more ridiculous with each new round. This obsession of McEntire's is very revealing. I have a hard time believing he's just SO very committed to "economic development" in Clallam County - and can only see it happen via this one, failed organization.

On the other hand, I have very little trouble believing that he wants to get his hands on the money in question, or is lining someone up for these new jobs - something nefarious. Maybe setting up a post "retirement" job for his friend, Jim Jones? Who knows?

Whatever the real reason, it's obvious it can't be good for Clallam County.

    1. Remember Karen Rogers? She served on the EDC when they gave Jim Haguewood $8 million taxpayer dollars. County taxpayers are paying that back at the tune of $50,000 per year. Seen any jobs yet? How much must they rip off before the state boys come in?

  3. Only the total swine that is Jim McEntire could make the 90% swine that is Mike Chapman look good. When a dedicated piece of deadwood like Chapman is suddenly the voice of reason, you know things have gotten a lot worse.

And they were pretty bad to begin with.

  4. In high school those kids who acted as the teacher's pet were called "brown-nosers" meaning every time the teacher stopped suddenly their nose went up the teacher's ass. We need to refer to Peach as "Brown Nose Bill" cause his nose is waaaay up McEntire's ass.
Hey Bill, you were elected to represent the west end not McEntire's rear end.

  5. Crypt Kicker, you clearly have it in for Jim. Good for you! I'm shocked you are not all over this theft of public funds for use to build a composite recycling center.
The Port has concocted this idea for one purpose, so they can use public money to finish their asset. Dig a little and you will find out there is NO market, NO product, and No process for this idea. They're using jobs to sell it, but you can't have jobs without the former. When all the moneys gone, the Port will have another publicly funded asset and NO revenue.

    1. I agree with you 100%, just so you know. The Port is just as crooked as the County, and does deserve more attention.

  7. Man, this place is so OLD.

Front page article about the 90 year old DJ in Sequim.

Breaking news about what looks like a 75 year old who jumped off the bridge in Port Angeles.

Old-school cronyism pushed hard by the County Commissioners.

    Old, crummy and crumbling infrastructure.

Old debt making new, sensible spending impossible. Of course, the same old people who always get elected aren't likely to propose new ideas, but still...

Man, this place is so OLD.

    1. "Man, this place is so OLD."

Didn't you read the headlines? Port Angeles is one of the COOLEST cities in America.

That is why people jump off bridges here.

But, don't mention it to the Revitalize folks, because they don't want to hear anything negative.

Which is why people jump off bridges.

  8. Composite recycling my ass.
Recycling public money into private hands, that's the ticket.

  9. So, you likely missed Karen Rogers and Glenn Cutlers' appearance at tonight's Port Angeles City Council meeting. They were there to accept an award.

For what, you might ask. In one of the most blatantly ballsy moves, and consistent with their past disregard for the appearance of "conflict of interest", Karen Rogers was there to accept a psuedo-award on behalf of Excelteck for her work on the Race/Lauridsen Bridge. We remember Karen Rogers voting for projects to fund Exelteck while in office, and then she promptly went to work for them after leaving office. Nice.

Cutler was in the room, and uncharacteristically, would not walk to the front of the council chambers to stand aside Karen for the presentations and photos.

All council members applauded hearing how Karen was able to use her influence to get waivers for rules, so that the retaining walls could be made fatter, and the bridge made shorter.

They quickly left after their presentation.

    Only in Port Angles.

    1. Thank you for the report. I guess it's true that criminals always return to the scene of their crimes. If I'd been a Council member and this pair came before us, I'd walk out in protest and explain why - not sit their and applaud. That's insane. "Hurrah! Thanks for bankrupting us and creating a totally criminal culture in City Hall! Hurrah!"

      Disgusting.

    2. It goes to show that those who have no morals have no shame. Though it is interesting that Cutler didn't want to come down for the presentation. In any case, it looks like the rats are coming back onboard the sinking ship.

    3. I agree. The Council should have walked out.

But, they all go along, to get along.

    4. How does she exercise such control over city affairs when she's been out of office for so long, and even her chief minion (Cutler) is gone? I don't understand the foundation of her influence.

    5. It is really simple. She relies on GREED.

She knows it really is only all about MONEY.

      Who opposed the fireworks ban?

Those who make money off fireworks.

      Follow the money.

    6. Don't be lulled to sleep. Rogers is still large and in charge of more than you can imagine. It is no accident she fell right in to the job at the Olympic Medical Foundation. Gobs of CASH money to slither in. Who put her into that position? Jim Jones for one and the members of the board of the foundation. These are the greed heads who work with and for Rogers. Once she gets someone to take part in her greed then she has them forever. She will dangle a carrot and those who bite are in her control forever. Who in their right mind would allow her to become president of such an important foundation. You can tell that OMC is a rats nest and they will allow this type miscreant to soil their halls. That is why we cannot get reputable medical people up here. The do a bit of research and find this place is riddled with corruption and they move on.

  10. As can be expected, there was much that was omitted by the PDN from the account of what happened at the County Commissioners meeting.

The really short version is that Chapman got upset with the Daring Duo once again, and said he was willing to give up his job over the bidding issue.

Jim said he sympathized with Chapmans' concerns, but was determined to see the process move along.

Chapman continued, saying Stop it! Don't patronize me. He said that if they really did care, they would put off the bid acceptance for a week, so that options could be explored.

The fearless prosecuting Attorney, Nichols, said that if two or more of the Commissioners wanted him to look into the issues, he would do that.

Of course, Peach voted with McEntire to move things along.

    1. I'm no Chapman fan, and I've found stories I've heard of his off-meds behavior at the courthouse (from friends who work there) to be pretty disturbing. But man, I have to sympathize with the guy a little. Even if he wasn't totally off his rocker before, dealing with the Jimmy and Peachy would be enough to make anyone pull their hair out. But he's reaping what he helped sow. We're ALL reaping what he helped sow, and it isn't going to be good for any of us. But it does look like maybe Mike's learning a hard lesson.

  11. It was interesting to hear Cherie Kidd at the council meeting the other night mumble something about tracking DNR and timber. So forward thinking.

Yeah, that ship is down in the harbor loading up logs. Just giving our resources away. Obviously, this is a way to make Port Angeles economically successful. After the last however many years they have been shipping logs to China, or where ever they are going, we can see how that has really made Port Angeles move ahead.

Economic development happening, right before our very eyes. And, Cherie is right on it.

    1. But both the Board of Commissioners and the PA City Council are all supporting TIMBER. Are you telling me that our fine leaders don't understand what is going on in this town?

      Delete
    2. I think it's actually the other way around... The town doesn't understand what our leaders are doing. Which is why they can get away with so much...
