At What Cost?

Yep, just another day in Clallam County...

Just another day when the Clallam County Prosecuting Attorney, Mark Nichols, is being sued for sexual harassment. She says it went on for years. Now she's suing. Which raises the question: What does it cost to have a creep like Mark Nichols around?

It's also just another day in little ol' Port Angeles...

Just another day, another person jumping to their death from the Eighth Street bridge. Said jump being made easier, downright facilitated, by the lack of modern preventative barriers. Because said barriers  were deemed, jeepers, just a little too expensive.

Who did this deeming? Dimwits on the City Council. Which raises the same question, but in even grimmer terms: What does it cost to have a moron like Cherie Kidd around?

I wonder who's out there overdosing right now, on yet "another GREAT day in Port Angeles"?

  1. But, but, but, Cheri Kid fixed that. Don't you remember when she was running for her third term of office a couple years ago? She made this big to-do at city council meeting. She made all her fellow council members vote to authorize her to dig up money to put up suicide barriers. Yeah, they had to vote twice because she didn't get a unanimous vote the first time. Since I haven't heard another word about it I thought she had already fixed it. Oh, nothing has changed, in the ten years she's been on council, oh! Too bad, if she hadn't put this over as a campaign stunt then some serious minded person or group may have taken the problem on themselves. What is the cost of Kid

  2. Hey, Nicols is hitting on his office manager? What a relief, I thought he was in a gay relationship with Brian.

  3. Man as if waking up to national news isn't bad enough, you almost can't go a day in Clallam County without something happening to perpetuate that Port Angeles mythos.

  4. Exactly. This is what the so-called leadership in this town don't seem to understand. "What are the real costs?"

And, it trickles down to the villagers, who continue to support the very same so-called leaders that after all these years, have demonstrated they can do nothing.

As has been pointed out many times, if it were not for government money being constantly pumped into this area, it would have filed for bankruptcy long ago.

Maybe some see grant-whoring as success. Maybe some see the City surviving only by literally begging the State for money, as success.

As CK posted in the previous thread, the Trump Administration is all about cutting taxes and government spending, using the ongoing search by the Port for more money to resurrect the Airport. How many more of the City's government funded projects and salaries will be cut? (Are you paying any less in taxes, and other costs, these days?)

Someday, the family of an Eighth Street bridge jumper will hire a lawyer and sue the city, saying the City knew it had created the facility and situation that was attractive to those with suicidal ideation, had discussed the problem and investigated barriers, and decided it didn't want to spend the money to correct the situation.

  5. Hey Cherie, I'd suggest you wear your horrible pink outfit. It goes with the blood on your hands.

  6. Mark Nichols? The Mark Nichols who goes soft on vigilantes turns out to go hard on county employees? I'm shocked, simply shocked!

  7. And just another day for the Coward Keeper... hope you have the balls to post this one CK! So your good buddy (Dale Wilson) and his good 'ol pal (Susan Hilgren - T.A.F.Y. Extraordinaire) decided to make up, yes falsify an accusation that the PAPD Volunteers and past drug users/homeless might be sleeping together. Go to the Stop Enabling Clallam County Facebook page and read the unbiased police reports from Bremerton PD and decide for yourself if Dale and Susan are a waist of your tax dollars. Gotta love ya some T.A.F.Y, the answer for YOUTH right?

    1. First, welcome back Adam Chamberlin, loser, liar and convicted felon. Glad to see you're still reading this, you slimy piece of shit.

Second, and I've had to speak to you about this before, please, please, learn to spell. "Waist" is NOT the same as "waste," you moron.

Third, if you want us to look at your supposed information, then - Duh! - include the internet address for us all to go and be informed. Make it easy for us, Adam.

Again, thanks for writing, Adam Chamberlin, convicted felon and inbred Clallam County coward. Give your pal Mark Nichols a hug for us, y'hear?

    2. Do gotta love Adam's reference to "Coward". Really? A group that picks on society's most helpless and needy? Isn't "Our Town" and his supporters the definition of "Coward"?

These morons are so self righteous and ego driven that they can't see the very real harm they are doing to this town. So sad.

    3. Just to set the record strait, Dale Wilson made no accusations whatsoever. I did report rumors that kept swirling around the community. It was entirely the city's decision to engage an investigation to determine the veracity of these rumors. Now, to another point. It is interesting to me that a thrice convicted felon suddenly has an interest in the "waist" of tax money. What is more interesting is the fact that he has, since his latest conviction, decided to attempt to destroy my reputation. He did not lash out at the police department that arrested him, he did not lash out at the prosecutors who prosecuted him, he takes out his angst on the reporter who reported on him. Most of the reporting was simply a rehash of news releases coming out of the city and the prosecutor's office.
During the run-up to his trial Port O Call was simultaneously reporting on the county prosecutor and his ham-fisted handling of the Scott Lange matter which cost taxpayers more than one half million dollars. All of Lange's contentions were found to be correct by the courts. All of Nichols defenses were found to be incorrect. For two decades the county fought off a property owner whose concerns were borne out by legal authority. Anyway, my sincere belief is Nichols entered into a bargain with this thrice convicted felon agreeing to drop charges such as possession of 10 stolen cell phones, possession of a "sack full" of stolen phone data chips, loading a stolen video of a sex act onto the internet and making salacious remarks on the video, etc. My belief is these charges were dropped by Nichols in exchange for this felon to unleash his facebook wrath on me. For some reason Nichols dropped all these charges just before trial. Immediately after trial the thrice convicted felon unleashes his wrath on me.

Until recently this would seem a bit far fetched until we read about Nichols exceedingly poor judgement regarding his alleged heated pursuit of his office manager. It is also apparent there have been supra-legal searches into my past. So far they have found nothing by which I am embarrassed. The fact remains, the areas of their inquiry are off limits unless there is a bona fide legal investigation. Since I am charged with no crime this is illegal. Someone with connections is searching my background without any law enforcement reason. Hmmm, who could that be?

    4. Having just seen these last posts, I think any person who wants to judge for themselves who is trying to help youth in Port Angeles should simply go here: http://portocallpublishing.com/2017/06/skills-center-well-represented-at-the-emmy-awards-banquet-and-the-winner-is/

Who do we see? What do we see? What conclusions can we draw from what happened?

Do we see Mark Nichols or Cherie Kidd ? Do we see Adam Chamberlin or any of the "Our Town" crew?

Who is helping the youth of Port Angeles?

      See for yourself.

    5. What I saw (in the photo) was a lot of REALLY fat kids from Clallam County. REALLY fat. Those kids don't need a banquet; they need gym memberships.

    6. 10:39 said it. You DON'T see any PA leadership genuinely interested in kids, much less the future for anyone (except their lumber baron thugs).

    7. Anonymous 6:27AM, How completely tacky and "Our Townish" of you to make such a statement. Yes indeed the appropriate well thought out response to Dale Wilson's interest and guidance with these kids at the skill center and their success is to call them fat. How completely clever you are not. At least they are not fat and bald!

    8. And I bet the only cell phones in their pockets are their own

    9. Dayum y'all oughta go check out Chamberlin's Facebook page. Correct me if I'm wrong but he could be just a teensy bit obsessed with Dale. Maybe a little fixation on autoeroticism too, but judge for yourself... and, well, if you kept all 17 of your former guns in your bedroom... wow, SO weird. https://www.facebook.com/adam.chamberlin

    10. The Facebook address you provided is dead, or gone, or whatever. There ain't no there there. (Which DOES kind of make it perfect for brain-addled Adam, eh?)

But, of course, so long as we all know that homoerotic Adam Chamberlin is a convicted felon, well, that'll have to be enough for us.

    11. Adam C. has been in prison twice before this last felony conviction. Maybe he been playing "bottom's up" a bit too much. As the ole saying goes a gun is actually a phallic symbol. That may explain why he kept them all in his bedroom. What was that sticky sheen on the shotgun?

    12. It still amazes me that a group that is supposed to be about cleaning up crime in Port Angeles allows it's credibility to be destroyed spending so much of it's time and energy defending a repeat criminal.

Sure, I get the premise that a now reformed criminal has turned over a new leaf, has seen God, and now wants to do what they can to help the community they live in. But that is not what is happening here. Adam has been charged with crimes WHILE being a leader of this group.

And, he continues with less than noble activities, to this day.

Yes, I've heard that some women like "dangerous" guys, and others are drawn to "bad boys" they think they can fix. Fine. What ever floats your boat. Do that in your private life. Port Angeles should not suffer this craziness because a of few people that can't seem to understand what "helping the community" actually means.

  8. Great thread CK, but an expanded cost discussion would be great. Like the true costs of a reactionary city hall, rather than a proactive one. Only able to deal with today's immediate crisis in front of their noses, and then only long enough to form lip service to it.

What exactly is the debt burden for PA? Is it a candidate for Chapter 9 as a direct result of the bad deals consistently made? Why is there no balance sheet available?

    1. The debt burden for Port Angeles is crushing. And, unless things have changed dramatically, the debt load is set to peak this year or next year (can't remember which for sure). I guess that's the "good news." Though, how "good" it is to max out your indebtedness while ignoring infrastructure, entering into insane and useless projects (the Turd Tank and Nathan's Million Dollar Boondoggle Beach, for instance) and passing over institutional/staff problems that go deep, deep, deep, is debatable.

So, yeah, going forward, soon the City will be paying out a little bit less each year for existing debt - but of course they can also add new debt to the pile. Meanwhile, the myriad problems within the actual community of Port Angeles continue to go unaddressed. Drugs, anyone? Economic decay? An aging population? Less than stellar schools? Civic apathy? And let's not forget the real export product of Clallam County, political corruption.

    2. The debt load is exacerbated by the fact that only 8,500 of the city's 20,000 residents are gainfully employed. The rest are retired and living off their savings, receiving a gov't check each month, unemployed or homeless. Dems da demographics.

  9. Meanwhile, Artur "I'm not a racist, I was hacked" Wojnowski has a fresh new "unhacked" Facebook page. Top post is about how he's against the school-based health center, but it's obvious he didn't RTFA he linked, attend any school board meetings on the subject, or look into state laws for answers to his questions and so-called concerns.

So we already see what kind of council member he would be. Facts? Who needs facts? Or healthy kids, for that matter.
