The Pot Calling the Kettle Crazy (Or Something Like That) ((No Comment))

Clallam County Commissioner Bill Peach should put up or shut up, according to county Treasurer Selinda Barkhuis.

The first-term commissioner publicly suggested Barkhuis has acted criminally in her ongoing dispute with commissioners.

Peach was unequivocal in his criticism of Barkhuis at a June 23 commissioners meeting.

“I would like to officially state that her behavior is unacceptable, she has broken the law and that I won’t tolerate this,” he said without elaboration.

On July 22, Barkhuis emailed Peach demanding an explanation.

Barkhuis said she did not receive a response.

During an Aug. 10 work session, Peach said Barkhuis’ actions are “not the behavior of a rational individual.”

In a Peninsula Daily News interview later that day, Peach suggested she broke the law by refusing to honor the warrants.

Barkhuis’s attorney, David Alvarez, said “Personal attacks are a distraction from the legal issues being debated here.”

Peach did not return repeated calls for comment Friday that were left at his home, office and cellphone.

Commission Chairman Dim King Jim McEntire would not comment on Peach’s allegations of illegality on Barkhuis’ part.

Nor would he comment directly on Alvarez’s assertion that personal attacks divert attention from more important issues.

“Boy, would I love to respond to that,” Dim King Jim said.

Isn't it WONDERFUL to have adults in charge?

Wild Bill Peach must surely know he is right up next to a Slander suit when he claims the treasurer is violating the law and is not rational--meaning mentally incompetent. Hopefully Mark Nichols, county prosecutor and legal representative for the board of commissioners has sent him a memo to shut the fuck up. I do not think the commissioners have the same legislative immunity from slander as do state legislators.
Naturally Peach says these things early mornings, usually in the throes of a hangover from too much whiskey the night before. I do not think this will be an affirmative defense to slander however. Mark, you need to rein in the rhetoric of the board of commissioners, they are going to increase your workload considerably if you allow this repeated slander to continue. Mr. Alveraz, please file suit against Peach for Slander. Also, see if you can get him to a few AA meetings. He has three and a half more years on commission and if McEntire's bullshit is addressed in time Peach will soon be the chair of the county commission and then we are all in for the alcoholic home syndrome.

    1. I'm sure that Bill Peach will take the time to think about your thoughts regarding slanderous comments - just as soon as he's through reading your slanderous comments. But thanks for writing in, Mr. Pot. Or is it Mr. Kettle?

    2. aye, but I have the good sense to remain anon. he doesn't.
Plus, the truth is an affirmative defense against slander suits.

    4. Anon 8:27am actually thinks he's reporting something.

How ironic that one alcholoic slanders another.

  2. Peach is a spineless wimp.

Sad thing is what his presence on the Board of County Commissioners reveals about the voters in Clallam County. No one who attends BoCC meetings can come away being impressed by Peach, or anything he says.

So, how did he get elected?

Because the so-called conservatives and Republicans in the county will vote for anybody, no matter how spineless and lacking in any real skills, as long as they call themselves Republican.

This way of electing leadership results in what we have now. Nothing going nowhere, with stupid comments being made.

    1. Reminds me of the actor Charlie Sheen on 2 and a half men, during his recent meltdown he was fond of saying to anyone who would put a mic in front of him, "We winning" despite the obvious mental meltdown. That is the way republicans look at elections. They don't give a shit how bad a candidate is or how bad for the community the candidate might be--if he is a republican then he's okay. They're "winning"

  3. What are McEntire's election prospects this fall? What direction is the needle headed as we approach the Oct/Nov ballots being mailed out?

    1. I would guesstimate that he'll take about 53% of the vote. One person's opinion.

    2. During the primary the dems actually turned out more votes than dim jim
      in District 1.

    3. I'll agree with you, because we see over and over that reality, facts and any real leadership are not elements or qualities people who vote for him care about. Any moron in a monkey suit with that (R) next to their name will get the votes.

No change is better than any change.

    4. In a district-wide, general election, sorry folks, but...It's easy to see Dim King Jim getting reelected. I know that's not what you want to hear, but the history on this is pretty clear...

    6. Send us some money so we can MAIL county-wide for the next two issues. We may challenge the status quo. Worth a try. All of you who want to slay the dragon step up. Costs $200 per thousand to Mail Port O Call to homes. 30,000 homes, do the math, lend a hand we'll do a special "Elections" issue. We cover the printing you supply the postage. (shameless self-promotion, I know)

    7. I promise to donate $200. I'm on a very limited income, but your paper is the ONLY vehicle to reach all those people. If I can, I'll give $200 a month for the next couple of months to help with this. Honest and true. Maybe others will chip in, too.

    9. You got a better plan? I'll support yours. Of course you will hide behind the keyboard and troll those who seek to make a difference. By the way if you will notice the request was for postage to pay for mailing good info to low information voters. What's your plan?

    10. @ Anon 11:08

Ya, right! Mr.Wilson is doing more for this community than any other person I can think of. I challenge you to name someone else in the area that is doing as much for the good of everyone here.

But, with that said, what other options are you coming up with? What other medium do you have that is getting the truth about what is going on around here in all those thousands of households every month?

November election day is coming up pretty quick. We're running out of time. What are you doing, besides undermining good work being done?

Are you working FOR McEntire's re-election?
