It's a truly excellent restaurant, run by truly nice people. Though we have improved our lives 1000% by leaving Port Angeles, the one thing our new town does not have is a Thai restaurant as good as Sabai Thai.

Now that we've got the positive and the restaurant thing covered, are we good? For the rest, I suggest Yelp, Trip Advisor, or any number of other websites to rank and rate restaurants to your hearts content. If that wasn't bad enough there is a privileged, entitled, snooty and downright rudeness that goes along with it.
It is ingrained in the area. There are landlords who expect Seattle rents (triple-net, too). Restaurants who think serving FSA/SYSCO garbage (that they've been sold on because it just caters to their lazy ways -- why crack an egg if you can pour it from a carton!) but charge patrons like they had a Michelin star rating. The area is ripe with "get rich quick" ideas, and lack of a work ethic. No wonder our fearless, money-grubbing leaders also are looking for a free hand out, and will cheat, lie and steal to get it.
This area was clearly a company, mill town, and it's full of people who still with the ol'mill bosses were in charge. It is worse than a welfare-mindset, although very similar.
All I see when I read the local newspaper going on about this stuff is the background message: I ain't for it unless I gets my share. I began to request a copy of that promise--it was never made available. It was hogwash. Now the Port says they have "preliminary approval" for the composite recycling project. I don't believe that either. Maybe they got a letter back acknowledging the port has applied or some such. If there was a bona fide promise it would have hit the real newspapers in the region--even Seattle papers. I don't believe it is real and am attempting to get proof ot the existence of such a promise that would provide the heft to move the county to put forth taxpayer funds into such a dubious project. More likely this is an opportunity for the taxpayers to put forth the money to set the groundwork for such an operation. Then they pronounce it a failure a' la Pen Ply. Then one of the already chosen Good Ole Boys gets to come in and pick up the failed project at fire sale pricing, then, with the freedom to pay minimum wage, may be able to make a go of it. The port is simply attempting to put tax money into setting up a business for one of its insiders. Colleen McAleer is a veteran, bless her heart. But, she is no entrepreneur. Real entrepreneurs have their own skin in the game risking their own assets not others. How much time, money and resources have been redirected to this effort that could have been used more effectively. Building legacies for yourself at the expense of others has become the norm for public "servant's". Has anybody driven 18th street lately, now that would be a good use for infrastructure funds.
